LOOSE INCENSE 101

Many of us are familiar with incense sticks but haven't used incense in its most potent form: loose with whole plants and resins!

If you're new to loose incense, below you'll find everything you need to start this incredible ritual smoke practice.

A little of this product goes a long way.

One jar is enough loose incence for:

20-40+ uses
¼ scoop = an offering
½ scoop = fills a room
1 scoop = fills a house

What YOU WILL NEED:

what you will need.jpg
  1. A heat-safe container (I like to thrift little ceramic pots or ramekins) filled with ash, coarse salt, or some dirt with tiny pebbles (this helps the airflow). Glass isn't recommended because the heat may cause it to crack or shatter.

If it's less than an inch deep, I'd also recommend a heat-safe dish to place underneath (ashtrays work great).

  2. Quick-light charcoal tablets. Any size will do; the mini tablets last for about 30 minutes and the larger ones last up to an hour.

  3. A fire source: a lighter, matches, etc.

  4. Tongs or something to safely handle the hot coal with.

  5. A loose incense blend of your choice!

HOW TO USE:

1.) Holding the coal tablet in your tongs, light it until it's sparking all the way around the edges

2.) Let the charcoal sit until it becomes slightly grey and ashy.

3.) Take a small scoop of loose incense and set it on top of the coal.

4.) TA-DA! You've successfully used loose incense!

You can waft it around your room to purify + clear, cleanse magical tools with the smoke, light incense as an offering, and so much more.

ENJOY!
